OUR FORGOTTEN CHILDREN
- Our Forgotten Children in Third-World Countries
At the Heart Transplant Foundation, our mission transcends boundaries. We believe every child deserves the chance to lead a healthy and fulfilling life,
regardless of their geographic location or socioeconomic circumstances. That’s why we are dedicated to extending our efforts to children in third-world countries
who are in desperate need of small, life-saving surgeries.
In many underprivileged regions, children face significant barriers to healthcare. A lack of resources, medical expertise, and infrastructure often means
that conditions which could be treated with minor surgical interventions go unaddressed, leaving these young lives at risk. By stepping in, we aim to fill
this critical gap and give these children the chance to survive and thrive.
- Our Commitment to Global Impact
Funding Small but Life-Saving Surgeries
Every day, countless children face life-threatening conditions such as congenital heart defects, hernias, and other treatable ailments.
Many of these surgeries are low-cost but remain out of reach for families in third-world countries.
Through our foundation, we provide financial assistance to ensure these surgeries are accessible to those in need.

- Building Global Partnerships

- Providing Post-Surgical Support
Our commitment doesn’t end in the operating room. After surgery, we provide ongoing support for recovery and rehabilitation, empowering families with the tools and resources needed for their children to regain strength and lead healthier lives.

We raise awareness about healthcare challenges in underserved regions, partnering with CAIRO NIGHTS LLC to inspire global action.

We bring attention to these issues and inspire individuals and organizations around the world to join us in our mission.
- Real Stories, Real Impact
Meet Amaria, Age 11: Born with a congenital heart defect, Amaria’s condition went untreated for years.
With our funding and the expertise of local surgeons, Amaria underwent a successful surgery and now enjoys playing with her siblings and friends.
Dr. Mourise is reunited amongst her family in this photo.

Meet Musi, Age 9: Musi suffered from a simple, treatable hernia that caused her immense pain.
Thanks to our program, she received timely surgery and is now back to living a carefree childhood.
Dr. Mourise congratulates her for her bravery and offers a reminder of her love.

Meet Kora, Age 5: Kora grew up in a rural village with no access to advanced healthcare.
She was born with a hole in her heart (a ventricular septal defect), a condition that left her constantly tired and unable to play like other children.
Her parents, farmers earning barely enough to survive, couldn’t afford the surgery she desperately needed.
Through our foundation’s collaboration with local doctors, Kora received the surgery that repaired her heart.
Today, she is thriving, full of energy, laughter, and dreams of one day becoming a teacher.
Kora is reunited with Dinah Mourise in this photo, and her story reminds us that even small interventions can create life-changing impacts.

The Heart Transplant Foundation also extends its compassion and care to adults, like Lali, who had been confined to her bed for six years in the Dominican Republic without access to proper medical care or support. When Dr. Dinah Mourise discovered her, she acted swiftly, providing Lali with the care and comfort she had long been denied. Tragically, it was too late to save her. Yet, for the first time in years, Lali experienced peace and ease in a comfortable bed and a clean environment. As the end drew near, she held Dr. Mourise’s hand and, with her final words, softly said, “Muchas gracias para todo”—”Thank you so much for everything.
